Chairman of the Korea Sports Council Yoo Seung Min recently opened his mouth about Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, who won his fourth term.

Chairman Yoo Seung Min attended the entire meeting of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held in the conference room of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee of the National Assembly's main building on the 5th and held an inaugural greeting.

Chairman Yoo was elected in January, beating five competitors, including former Chairman Lee Ki-heung, who sought a third term in the 42nd election for the chairman of the Korea Sports Council.

Yoo, a gold medalist in men's singles table tennis at the 2004 Athens Olympics, served as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from 2016 until last summer's Paris Olympics, and served as the president of the Korea Table Tennis Association from 2019. After gaining various experiences, he became the chairman of the 2018 Pyeongchang Memorial Foundation, which was established to commemorate the hosting of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in Korea.

Chairman Yoo, who began his four-year term on the 28th of last month, attended the National Assembly for the first time and held a declaration ceremony.

According to Yonhap News, Chairman Yoo said, "I would like to express my gratitude to lawmakers who have been working hard all week to develop the culture, sports and tourism sector," adding, "The sports world is going through a lot of measles even though athletes gave hope and joy to the people and made remarkable performances at the Paris Olympics last year."

"Now is the time for the sports world to change further, and I will work hard to lead the athletes to come together and show the changes that they lead," he said. "I ask for your encouragement and support so that the sports association can continue to work with the people and meet their expectations."

On the same day, Chairman Yoo also spoke to Chung Mong-gyu, president of the Korea Football Association, who has succeeded in his fourth term, when asked about measures at the level of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism or the Sports Council.

Chung was elected as the 55th president of the Korea Football Association by a landslide in the election held at the Korea Football Association Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul on April 26, and succeeded in serving his fourth consecutive term. This term is until the regular general meeting scheduled in early 2029.

Chung had a three-way race with Huh Jung-moo, former coach of the Korean national soccer team, and Shin Moon-sun, a visiting professor of sports record analysis at Myongji University Graduate School of Records and Information Science. Chung won 156 out of 182 valid votes in a vote in which 183 out of 192 electors participated, beating the two candidates to a fourth term with 85.7 percent of the vote. Heo garnered only 15 votes and Shin only 11.

Even though he won the election, however, he still has a number of issues to be solved. It is a legal battle with the Ministry of Culture and Sports, after approval by the Korean Olympic Committee.

Earlier in November last year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the results of the Korea Football Association's audit, calling for severe disciplinary action beyond the suspension of qualifications against key figures such as Chairman Chung. In January, the Korea Football Association filed a lawsuit seeking cancellation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's disposition and applied for suspension of execution.

For now, the court cited the suspension of execution on the 11th of last month, but the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is determined to cut off various government subsidies of more than 30 billion won to the Korea Football Association.

It is still unknown whether Chairman Yoo will approve Chairman Chung. Immediately after his election, Chairman Yoo said, "I will respect the will of sportsmen in the relevant event."

Chairman Yoo once again expressed his position at the entire meeting of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. 바카라

"The deadline for filing an objection to the election is tomorrow (6th). If there is no objection, it is a rule to judge that there is no reason for disqualification and confirmation," he said. "If there is a situation in the court, we will have to come up with the next best option."
